PRODUCT DESIGN for

SPARKLE HOPS

In lieu of the ever-changing drinking habits and landscape of the consumer, Pelican Brewing needed to diversify their products. With years of experimentation, Sparkle Hops–the hop-infused flavored sparkling water was born and quickly in need of a voice, creative direction, packaging system, campaign assets and more to bring it to life and attract this new segment of consumer.

  • With a need to diversify product offerings combined with the trends of beverage consumption shifting, Pelican Brewing needed to identify a new direction to explore. While the R&D team brainstormed, they sipped on a non-alcoholic sparkling water that the Head Brewer had designed and developed two years prior. After sharing some market research, competitor review, and beverage trends analysis, the team realized the solution was right in front of us, and Sparkle Hops was born. This hoppy refresher hit the target audience’s desire for a daily non-alcoholic craft beverage, unique flavor pairing, and the need to satisfy and celebrate a hop profile. I lead the initial research, naming and flavor exploration, product communication details as well as developed the package design system, all on-site restaurant and bar collateral pieces, billboards, digital advertisements, web store presence, direct-to-consumer marketing initiatives, as well as content, social and retail art direction.
